I work in community settings and at events as well as being available for private bookings, offering a variety of workshops. Every year, I facilitate the feltmaking space at an Ancestral Skills Gathering which happens in August, by Loch Tay.
Below are some examples of workshops that I offer. If you have an idea that differs from what you see here, please get in touch to talk it through.

Working with raw wool
~ 1 day, 4-6 participants
Learn how to work with raw fleece, straight from the sheep. We will explore different methods for cleaning and carding the wool, all the way up to making a small test piece of felt.

Waistcoats
~ 2-3 days, 3-5 participants
Design and make your own waistcoat from felt. There are options here to either work with raw fleece or wool bought in the form of roving. This changes the length and cost of the workshop respectively. Theres also a choice between making pieces that are sewn together, or a one-piece no-sew waistcoat.

Wild shawls and collars
~ 1 day workshop, 3-5 participants
Make your own felt collar using raw Scottish wool. You will learn one of the ways to work with raw fleece, combining it with pre-washed wool to make a collar or shawl that showcases the beautiful natural qualities of raw fleece

Community felt
~ variable length, 6-50 participants
In many cultures, felting was traditionally a time when communities would come together to make large pieces of felt for use in every day life. These larger projects often come in the form of a series of workshops. Participants make either one large felt as a group, or a series of smaller pieces which then come together to make one final work. This sort of project works well for community groups, with the final work going on to decorate a shared space, or being auctioned at an event to raise money for the group or organisation.

Felted sheepskins
~ 1-2 day, 2-3 participants
Make your own felted sheepskin from Scottish wool. We will use raw fleece straight from the sheep to make a felted version of a sheepskin. The felted backing secures the fleece to make a sturdy piece that is a beautiful alternative to a skin on sheepskin.

Small felt projects (crowns, purses, flowers)
~ 2-4 hours, 6-8 participants
Smaller projects are good for groups of mixed ability, both kids and adults alike. We will use wool, water and soap to make a small piece for participants to take home with them. This is a fun way to introduce feltmaking.
